Wood-cut Workshops
The Neilson Hays Art Galleries, together with the Chilean Embassy, are proud to present the following workshops with the chilean artist Bernardita Schulz (Tara Blanca.)At the Neilson Hays Library :
Saturday May 7
Wood-cut (Xylography) Workshop (for adults only) 10am to 3pm. Cost of workshop THB 1,200: includes materials and lunch Max 10 participants In this workshop participants will learn the technique of Black and White Xylography (wood-cut) creating and printing their own designs, which later they will enumerate creating an edition. Thy will use xylography ink.
Saturday May 14
Wood-cut Introduction to Xylography by Stencil Workshop (for 6-11 year olds 10am to 3pm. Cost of workshop THB 1,200: includes materials and lunch Max 10 participants In this workshop children will learn the technique of "frotado": rubbing leaves, coins and all other materials that they have found or that the teacher will give to them. Later, in the second part, the children will learn the technique of stenciling; creating and printing their own designs with acrylic colours, which they will later enumerate creating an edition.
Sunday May 15

6 PART SERIES WORKSHOP
Wood-cut (Xylography) 6 Part Series Workshop (for adults only)Total of 6 mornings: Mondays 16 & 23 May; Wednesdays 18 & 25 May; Thursdays 19 & 26 MayAt the Neilson Hays Library: 10am to 1pmCost of series THB 3,000: includes materials and tools (not lunch)Max 10 participants In this workshop participants will learn the technoque of Black and White Xylography (wood-cut) creating and printing their own designs, which later they will enumerate creating an edition. They will use xylography ink. This six session workshop will give the participants the possibility of making different quanitities of woodcuts (xylography) land earning the art with inner understanding.
